I've been posting "song of the day' for about a month now, and I can't believe I haven't chosen a U2 song yet, as they are my favorite band and have been forever!!! I will correct that today with the song "The Refugee" from the "War" album.
This album track has always been one of my favorites, but I have to say, I love all the songs on this one. I've been lucky enough to see U2 in concert on three different occasions (2 nights in a row on the "Joshua Tree" tour and then in 2009 at Gillette Stadium), and they never disappoint me. Another fond U2 memory: the weekend the "Rattle and Hum" film hit theaters, my friend, Kath, and I saw it 4 times! Once on Friday night, and I believe 3 times on Saturday. Hey, we were alot younger then, and we got in free each time, as Kath worked at that particular theater! We would have sat through that movie for every showing that week if we didn't have jobs to get back to! I even have photos of us in the lobby, posing with the huge cardboard standups, which I would post here if I knew where they were offhand. Guess I should plan out these blog entries a bit better instead of just winging it each time!
